The Making of the Shot
The main goal of this shoot was to present Jameson whiskey in a masculine and visually compelling atmosphere. I aimed to highlight the character of the product — classic, reliable, and slightly bold — using intentional lighting and composition.
Lighting Setup:
- Main light for the bottle: A large softbox from the side, combined with an extra diffuser in front — this gave a soft light transition through the glass, controlling reflections and highlights.
- For the rope in the background: A rustic rope was placed in the back. I lit it with a focused snoot to make it stand out. This subtle detail adds to the masculine mood.
- For the cap: A bare flash from above created a hard highlight to emphasize its structure and texture.
- For the label: I used a circular, diffused light to make sure the text was clear, readable, and not washed out by reflections.

Props and Background Choices:
- The rustic rope in the background adds a masculine, rugged feel.
- Background color and texture were kept dark and warm to harmonize with the tone of the whiskey.
- Simple, clean composition kept the focus entirely on the product.
The Visual Message:
This photo tells a story:
“This isn’t just a drink — it’s a statement. A symbol of tradition, strength, and taste.”
My goal was not just to display the product, but to create a feeling in the viewer.
